How Institutions Can Bulk-Register Found Items on WeFoundIt

If you manage found items at a police station, university, hotel, or transport company, WeFoundIt's institutional dashboard lets you register items individually or in bulk: then our system automatically notifies owners.

Getting Started (5 Minutes)

1. Create an institution account at app.wefoundit.space/register: select "Institution" during signup
2. Add your institution details: name, type (police, university, hotel, transport), address, GPS coordinates
3. Wait for verification: our team verifies institutional accounts within 24 hours

Registering Items

Option A: One-by-One (Mobile)

Open the app → tap "Register Found Item" → fill in category, name on document (if applicable), location found, add a photo. Takes 30 seconds per item.

Option B: Bulk Upload (CSV)

Prepare a spreadsheet with columns: title, category, document_name, document_number, city, description. Upload it from the institutional dashboard → all items are registered at once and immediately start matching.

Option C: QR Labels

Print QR code labels from the dashboard. Stick one on each item's envelope. When the owner scans the QR code (from a poster or notification), they're taken directly to the claim flow.

What Happens After Registration

• The system scans all existing lost-item reports for matches
• Matched owners receive push notifications + email + SMS
• Owners visit your location to collect (you verify their identity)
• The item is marked as "returned" in the system: your stats update
